We have found Early Contractor Involvement has provided the opportunity to maximise the value achievable in a project by taking advantage of HENWOOD extensive construction experience to develop an efficient cost-effective design in parallel with the intended aesthetic and build-ability considerations.

Project Delivery Methods

Cost and Programme Planning

HENWOOD understands that projects must be commercially viable before they may proceed to design and documentation phase. As such, we provide cost planning, quantitative surveying and programme advice at inception of a potential project that can be used as a guide for managing the cost and time expectations. As per the Earlier Contractor Involvement method, this allows us to give the project the necessary direction required to maintain the key drivers. 


Design and Development

HENWOOD is able to bring together a team of architects, consultants designers and engineers to determine the project brief and develop the design. This will include the extraction of a client needs analysis and functional brief with a collaborative design approach to ensure the design is tailored to best service all requirements and in accordance with relevant codes, regulations and standards. This process may then be managed from conception to completion, including consultant appointment and fee management, design management to attain authority and council approvals, development approval determination, conforming development certification, building owners and neighbours notification and consent, construction certification and final occupation certification on the government planning portal.


Value Engineering

HENWOOD uses value engineering with a systematic and organized approach to provide the necessary functions in a project at the lowest cost. By referencing our tried and proven knowledge of construction, we assist with achieving budget and programme targets by suggesting options for substitution of materials and methodologies with less expensive alternatives, intelligent streamlined processes and without sacrificing functionality.


Construction Project Management

HENWOOD as construction partner in the delivery process bring to the table a lifetime of experience to provide the know how to control all aspects of construction including leadership, management and mentoring of project teams to ensure superior performance, health, safety, environment, quality assurance compliance. In all aspects of project delivery including risk management, programme management, formulating and implementing procurement strategy and subcontractor agreements, human resources, monitoring activities and performance. Producing monthly project reports including financial budgets and cashflow forecasts. Chair client and key stakeholder meetings. Project recommendation and reporting directly to client and owners to make and assist with key decisions. Performance reviews, program efficiencies, lessons learnt and milestones. Challenge ideas and procedures (the status quo) for the continuous development and improvement.

With a track record of 25 years’ experience, he has consistently demonstrated an ability to navigate high complexity challenges, and an ability to recognise and seize opportunities to maximise growth, proactively identifying existing and potential opportunities, capitalising on emerging opportunities in an ever changing world to provide effective solutions to make it happen.

Art is a lateral thinker, open minded and flexible, committed to continuous improvement and possess stellar communication and negotiation skills, highly skilled and results driven, numerate and analytical problem solver with a strong background in the construction industry, bringing a wealth of technical expertise to the table, ensuring that each project not only meet but exceed client expectations, earning a reputation for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Art is known for his hands-on and committed approach, an extensive skill-base encompassing all managerial functions, adeptly coordinating various stakeholders, from consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams, to achieve seamless collaboration. His keen attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety are evident in every phase of the construction process.
